1. Haridwar (1 Night) – The Gateway to Chardham Yatra
Your journey begins in the sacred city of Haridwar, where pilgrims take a holy dip in the Ganges at Har Ki Pauri before starting the yatra. Witness the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti, visit famous temples like Mansa Devi and Chandi Devi, and soak in the divine aura of this ancient city.
2. Barkot (2 Nights) – Enroute to Yamunotri
Nestled in the lap of the Garhwal Himalayas, Barkot serves as a base camp for Yamunotri Dham. The lush green landscapes, snow-capped peaks, and the gushing Yamuna River make Barkot a scenic stop on the journey.
3. Yamunotri (Day Excursion) – The First Dham
Yamunotri, dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, is the first stop of the Chardham Yatra. The temple of Yamunotri is situated at an altitude of 3,293 meters and can be reached via a 6 km trek from Janki Chatti. Devotees offer prayers and take a dip in the hot springs of Surya Kund, believed to have medicinal properties.
4. Uttarkashi (2 Nights) – Home to the Kashi of the North
From Barkot, the journey continues to Uttarkashi, a sacred town situated on the banks of the Bhagirathi River. Uttarkashi is home to Vishwanath Temple, one of the most revered Shiva temples in North India. Pilgrims can also visit Shakti Temple, known for its huge trident.

5. Gangotri (Day Excursion) – The Source of the Ganges
Gangotri, the second dham, is dedicated to Goddess Ganga. The Gangotri Temple, located at an altitude of 3,100 meters, is the spot where River Ganga descended from heaven to cleanse humanity. Pilgrims perform rituals at the sacred Bhagirath Shila and take a holy dip in the ice-cold waters of the Bhagirathi River.
6. Guptkashi (2 Nights) – Gateway to Kedarnath
Located on the way to Kedarnath, Guptkashi is a spiritually significant town known for the ancient Vishwanath Temple and Ardh Narishwar Temple. Pilgrims halt here before heading toward Kedarnath.
7. Kedarnath (1 Night) – The Land of Lord Shiva
One of the 12 Jyotirlingas, Kedarnath Temple is nestled amidst snow-capped peaks at an altitude of 3,583 meters. To reach Kedarnath, devotees undertake a 16 km trek from Gaurikund. 8. Rudraprayag (1 Night) – The Confluence of Alaknanda and Mandakini
